Dorridge Fun Run 2012 !! - 21/06/2012
A record number of over 1350 runners, walkers and cyclists enjoyed a superb day at the 8th Dorridge Fun Run. Thank you to all those who took part in the event and who came along to the Summer Fair afterwards. We hope to have raised over £30,000 for this year's charities once all sponsorship monies are received. It is great that everyone's hard work was so worthwhile.
We would like to also thank our sponsors, especially our principal sponsor John Shepherd, the Mayor of Solihull Councillor Ken Hawkins and Malcolm Stent.
The winners were:-
The winning man over the 8.2 mile course was Patrick Roddy in a time of 46 minutes 57 seconds, and the winning woman – setting a new course record time for a female runner – was Jane Evans in a time of 48 minutes and 19 seconds.
The fastest junior over the 3 mile course was Joshua Mort in a time of 31 minutes and 30 seconds.
The oldest entrant was Charles Morley age 80 and the youngest entrant was Thomas Strang. Winners of the fancy dress award were husband and wife John and Rosemary Davies - they were two of many super heroes on the day! (David you should have gone at Captain America!!) The Bentley Heath School painting competition winner was Sophia Vodher
If you have raised personal sponsorship, we would appreciate it if you could send all monies collected to us by 31st July.

You can further support the charities at the Drum and Monkey in Dorridge on Saturday August 18th 2012 where there will be music, children’s games including a bouncy castle and host of side-stalls for the family to enjoy.
